Emu oil your secret treasure in beautiful skin and strong, luscious hair

Emu Oil

Humans have used Emu Oil for over 40.000 years

For starters, it may be interesting to know that humans have used the potent Emu Oil for over 40.000 years. They used it to help protect the skin from environmental factors and treat minor cuts and wounds. In modern day times, Emu Oil is used in medical settings and in over the counter products for all-natural skin treatments. Emu oil is a highly sought-after oil, used primarily in skin care.

Popular among the Aboriginals of Australia, emu oil has been around for centuries and is used in alternative treatments for arthritis, hair loss, and many other medical conditions. It can also help relieve aches and pains, fade stretch marks and scars and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Its anti-inflammatory properties improve the health of the epithelial cells and contribute to improving the structure of the cellular walls and its cellular functioning.

Reduce inflammation with emu oil

Emu oil is primarily made up of essential fatty acids, like omega-3s, and it helps treat skin conditions and naturally reduces inflammation among many other incredible benefits. Emu oil works well as a carrier oil when paired with an essential oil and is ideal for drier skin types. It’s essential fatty acids,  such as linolenic acid and oleic acid making it a great natural healer. The penetration of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids helps to maintain the cellular structure and cellular health of the skin and epithelial cells.

The fatty acid content of emu oil

  • Linoleic acid – 15%
  • Linolenic acid – 0.9%
  • Oleic acid – 47.4%
  • Comedogenic rating – 1

Emu oil promotes hair growth

When used on the scalp, emu oil can restore, moisturise and help promote hair growth. It’s also non-irritating, odourless and hydrates the skin, leaving it smooth and non-greasy.

Research shows that Emu oil is of higher rank in its effectiveness compared to other products that help treat acne or eczema. The properties found in emu oil are very similar to our skin’s essential fatty acid ratios, making it super-absorbent.

Emu oil helps transports nutrients to deeper layers and hair follicles

The American Emu Association EA cornerstones discoveries that suggest emu oil acts as an effective vehicle that can quickly and easily transport other nutrients into the deeper dermal layers. These penetrating assets can enhance the potency of topical medication and natural solutions such as essential oils. This makes Emu oil a perfect potent ally for hair loss and hair problems.

The Associations also supports Its anti-inflammatory properties known to improve the health of the epithelial cells, improving skin health and is labelled as an environmentally friendly commodity.

The Male Pattern Baldness research indicates that Emu oil is an effective anti-inflammatory oil that helps treat male and female pattern baldness. It is also a moisturising emulsifier that promotes skin health.

Emu oil reduces the miniaturisation of hair follicles

When applied directly to the scalp, Emu Oil has been known to reduce the miniaturisation of hair follicles. Miniaturization is the hormone-driven biological process that causes hair loss for both, men and women. This in return can help you combat or prevent hair loss or hair thinning problems.

Emu oil and peppermint essential oil are potent DHT inhibitors (DHT is the hormone responsible for pattern baldness). Frequent use of this oil onto your scalp is your best secret to combat hair loss, and therefore I use this oil several times per week on my scalp.

Peppermint essential oil for hair growth

Peppermint oil is one of my favourite oils that I think everybody should have at home as it is offering a natural solution for many ailments and is a very useful health product.

Peppermint oil is fragrant and very efficient in the treatment of hair loss. It contains a significant amount of essential fatty acids, which helps stimulate your scalp and treat any yeast that may be living on the surface. Use this oil to treat any inflammation of the scalp, as well as dandruff. It’s also used as a coolant, to make your scalp feels super refreshed. As a scent, it offers calm to the nervous system and can also be used to smoothen hair and skin.

Peppermint oil is an ingredient I use in my hair serum to help it grow faster. As with any treatment, expect to see results with consistent use. On top of that, it has an amazing scent! In fact, peppermint oil is so effective that studies found it worked 60% better than Minoxidil! It also has antimicrobial properties, soothes the gastric lining and helps ease digestive issues and is an excellent oil to combat nausea.

Add few drops of peppermint oil into emu-oil (with your preferred dilution, I use 5 %) and gently massage few drops on your scalp. (daily or few times per week)

Safety uses for peppermint essential oil

Non-toxic, non-irritant but occasionally sensitising. Never apply peppermint essential oil undiluted to the skin and avoid direct contact with the eyes.
