essential oils have many benefitsBefore we begin:

Dividing essential oils per favourite uses was not an easy task as I use most of them on rotation for various ailments and functions.

However, I tried to be precise, and divide the oils into categories I use them most frequently for.

Whenever you purchase essential oils, be sure to pick the highest quality oils you can get your hands on and dilute them with non-comedogenic carrier oils to the dilution % you would like to work with

In this section, I would like to highlight that Rosemary essential oils would also be part on my list of the favourite sanitising and wellness essential oils page!

Why I use essential oils on a daily basis

I use essential oils on a daily basis for my beauty care, hair care, household, as sanitisers, flu warriors, health ailments, and some oils, I also use for my pet’s health.

Essential oils are non-toxic, effective, efficient, dynamic and they create a fantastic wellness experience! And as a bonus, they smell and feel heavenly!

Basil essential oil

Basil (or Tulis) is a spicy and versatile oil that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and many other health benefits. I love its intense and minty-herbaceous scents.

Stimulating properties of Basil essential oil improve blood circulation

Poor circulation is one of the leading causes of hair loss. The stimulating properties of basil essential oil help increase blood-flow, cools down the skin and promote new hair growth. It is also good to combat oily hair. It has warming and uplifting benefits, and like most ingredients with these properties, it kick-starts the hair follicles and gets them functioning again. Basil oil is also an excellent source of magnesium which helps rejuvenate and strengthen hair follicles and shaft.

Eugenol, a component in basil oil, improves hair and cell structure

Basil contains eugenol – an anti-inflammatory ingredient. It also contains two flavonoids called, orientin and vicenin, these are antioxidants that help protect the hair and cell structure.

Basil promotes alertness and ease anxiety, stress, depression and fatigue

This invigoration oil is used to promote alertness and focus, so diffusing Basil oil helps improve your focus while concentrating or studying. The high linalool compounds in basil oil are great for mind and body and aid ease anxious feelings, nervous tension, depression, fatigue and stress. The calming benefits of Basil oil are an excellent way to combat gloomy moods. It also aids in digestion, treats respiratory disorders and helps treat earaches.

You can also add it to your favourite Italian meal for a refreshing twist.

Peppermint essential oil

Peppermint oil is one of my favourite oils that I think everybody should have at home as it is offering a natural solution for many ailments and is a very useful health product.

Peppermint essential is 70 % more effective to combat hair loss than minoxidil

Peppermint oil is fragrant and very efficient in the treatment of hair loss. It contains a significant amount of essential fatty acids, which helps stimulate your scalp and treat any yeast that may be living on the surface. Use this oil to treat any inflammation of the scalp, as well as dandruff. It’s also used as a coolant, to make your scalp feels super refreshed. As a scent, it offers calm to the nervous system and can also be used to smoothen hair and skin.

Peppermint essential oil is also a favourite ingredient in my hair serums

Peppermint oil is an ingredient I use in my hair serum to help it grow faster. As with any treatment, expect to see results with consistent use. On top of that, it has an amazing scent! In fact, peppermint oil is so effective that studies found it worked 60% better than Minoxidil! It also has antimicrobial properties, soothes the gastric lining and helps ease digestive issues and is an excellent oil to combat nausea.

Clary Sage works soothing relaxing and balancing hormones

The organic compound linalyl acetate found in Clary Sage works relaxing, soothing and balancing.

Some research has shown that clary sage can balance oestrogen levels in the skin of older women. There are no published reports on the side effects of using clary sage but work with a herbalist to find your right dose.

Furthermore, clary sage contains natural phytoestrogens, which can affect our hormones. This can help to regulate oestrogen levels, resulting in a healthier uterus, which reduces the chances of uterine and ovarian cancer.

Excess oestrogen in our bodies can cause a whole range of problems such as infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome and even cancer. This is partly due to the food we eat, which may be high in oestrogen. Clary sage can help balance this, making it incredibly effective.
