Jojoba oil, a great ally, condition, regrow and prevent hair loss
The seeds from jojoba have been used for decades in folk medicine to treat sores, cuts and other ailments. The native Americans and Mexicans also used it as a hair restorer and conditioner. Research now shows that there are many anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits of jojoba oil.
Jojoba oil can help regrow hair and prevent hair loss. This oil mimics the consistency of sebum, which is a natural oil produced by our skin. As a result, it absorbs effortlessly into the scalp and hair follicles without blocking it up. In fact, it can help loosen excess sebum and debris on the scalp, encouraging new hair growth. Because of its ability to unclog the follicles, jojoba oil is also used to help treat hair loss conditions.
Jojoba oil leaves hair silky and smooth and tames frizz.
Jojoba oil leaves hair smooth, silky and healthy while repairing dry, frizzy, and brittle hair. Rich in essential fatty acids, jojoba oil can also help heal a dry scalp and calm itchiness caused by heavy metals found in water and harsh chemicals in shampoo.
Combine jojoba oils with essential oils to regrow hair
Scientific research has also found that jojoba can improve hair growth. A study at the University of Maryland on alopecia patients showed that applying jojoba oil can generate a significant amount of hair growth. The study also found that, when combined with other essential oils, 44% of the patients showed an overall improvement in the quality of their hair.
Jojoba oil is a moisturising oil that balances the skin.
This light, yet moisturising, oil is also ideal for those with oilier skin as it helps balance the production of excess oil. However, some people may experience a ‘purge’ of toxins when they start using this on the skin. This should ease up within a few weeks, revealing clearer, revitalised skin.
Jojoba oil is completely safe to use, even in delicate areas. It’s non-toxic, non-allergenic, non- comedogenic, doesn’t clog your pores or trigger allergic reactions.
Is Jojoba oil safe?
It would be rare to get an allergic reaction to this oil, however, as with all compounds, you can get a reaction to anything.
Jojoba oil is a pure oil and I always go for unrefined Cold Pressed Oils. It is also paraben-free, hypoallergenic, con-comedogenic, non-GMO & chemical free.

Brands such as Poppy Austin and Levenrose deliver products that are made in small batches to preserve the quality of their products.
