Discover the Best Essential Oils that are effective to regrow hair and combat hair loss

Certain essential oils can stimulate the tiny blood vessels in the scalp which increases blood flow and provides nutrients to the hair follicles, helping combat hair loss and promote hair growth.

When you regularly massage the scalp, it stimulates the microcirculatory system. This massage makes the muscles of the scalp relax and tones the skin in a beneficial way.

In 1998 the Department of Dermatology researchers in Aberdeen conducted a seven-month study into the effects of essential oils. They found that the following essential oils successfully treated hair loss:

  • Thyme white (Thymus vulgaris)
  • Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
  • Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
  • Cedarwood Atlas (Cedrus atlantica)

In the study, essential oils were blended in a base of jojoba and grapeseed carrier oil. Group A was given the essential oil blend and Group ‘B’ was given massage oil. Both groups applied their oil blend to their scalps.

At the end of the trial, 44% of Group A participants showed improved hair growth, compared to just 15% of those in Group B.

Certain carrier oils appear to have a powerful impact on hair growth when blended with essential oils. These carrier oils were: arnica, black seed, borage, calendula, coconut, evening primrose, jojoba, and macadamia. I also like to add to this list castor, rosehip, and emu oil as my top four oils.

Let us look at some uses of the best essential OILS:

The best essential oils can be used for so many different medical purposes.

Analgesic, antibacterial, sedative, anti-viral, anti-fungal, nervine, antiseptic, balance blood pressure (hypotension and hypertension), anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, improves digestion, anti-rheumatic, deodorizing, anti-spasmodic, stimulating, anti-venomous, anti-toxic, anti-depressant. It also improves blood circulation, works a diuretic, is uplifting, inspiring, helps improve creativity.

On top of that, they work cell-regenerating, anti-aging, aids in meditation, spirituality, and the list goes on.

In the beauty industry, the beautifying and cell-rejuvenating properties matter the most.

Let’s look at what that means in natural and holistic haircare. I am a big fan of essential oils and I make use of my best essential oil selection daily. Even several times.

Regrow your hair naturally with your custom-made DIY essential oil haircare formula

Essential oils have been an ingredient in natural hair care recipes for centuries. Lavender, rosemary, chamomile, and tea tree, among others, are all popular essential oils used in hair serums, masks, shampoos, and conditioners.

You can use them as massage oils to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles. They also have conditioning properties, so while you massage them into the scalp, it will begin to reduce irritation. Massage increases blood flow that carries the nutrients to the hair follicles. Essential oils are used to stimulate the micro circulatory system to relax the muscles of the scalp. They also end up working their way along the full length of your hair and moisturizing from root to tip.

When you create a DIY haircare formula, be sure to top it off with essential oils. When using a serum directly on the scalp, dilute your favorite and best essential oils with a carrier oil and then add it in the recommended proportions.

Massaging essential oils into your scalp to stimulate blood flow

Pour a small amount (like a few drops) of the blend into your hand. Spread the mixture evenly across your palms (rub your palms) and massage it into your scalp (not on your hair). Massage in small, gentle, circular motions to ensure you cover the whole scalp. After a few minutes of massaging, tip your head over so that it’s lower than your heart and continue to massage. This stimulates blood flow to the scalp. Leave the mixture on your scalp for as long as possible.

You can also wrap your hair in a warm, moist towel after massaging your scalp. This serum opens your pores and increases the likelihood of it being absorbed by the scalp. The best time to do this is before bed or when you have a moment to relax.

For best results leave it on overnight. You can repeat this every day or every other day.

Important note for the therapeutic quality of the best essential oils!

Note: Always buy 100% pure therapeutic-quality essential oils. You only want to work with the best essential oils of the highest standard. Essential oils and carrier oils can help hair grow stronger and healthier and can support regrowth in those experiencing hair loss, but only if you use high-quality ingredients!

Be persistent when regrowing your hair

Stopping hair loss and successfully regrowing your hair will take persistence on your part.  First, I recommend adopting an entirely natural lifestyle – eat nutritiously and detox regularly.  Also, try to massage your scalp daily to stimulate blood flow. Depending on your hair type, this can be done with a mix of vegetable and essential oils.  Just remember, when it comes to the scalp, less is more…and I use only oils that are not clogging the pores, as that can contribute to further hair-loss! Only use the best essential oils with a therapeutic quality label as otherwise, it can be really pointless.
