How to Detox your life in Modern Day Society?

How to detox your life in a modern society where it’s nearly impossible to avoid exposure to heavy metals, toxins and other impurities? These impurities enter your body and affect how it functions. They can damage your health, your immune system and your body’s resiliency.

Even with our best endeavours for maintaining a clean green lifestyle, it is nearly impossible to avoid all toxins. It’s not only about your exposure to toxins but also about your genetic tolerance to toxins.

Some people can eat healthy all their lives, yet die young, while others can eat all crap and unhealthy food, yet remain feel vital and remain slim. Our Genetic roadmaps are a complex matter, and if you are like me, with a very complicated gene-map, detoxing your body from toxins and reactions to foods and other compounds may be rather difficult.

I have done my gene tests with Amy Yasko in 2013 and according to these tests, I have the following methylation impairments.

CBS+- which regulates the enzymes that help assimilate homocysteine into glutathione
MTHFR this mutation is responsible for not assimilating folium into methylfolate
NOS+- helps regulate the ammonia detoxification path
COMT+- this gen is involved with the assimilation of dopamine into norepinephrine
MTRR helps assimilate homocysteine into methionine
BHMT takes control over the shortest route of the methylation process

Two hundred years ago, this mix of genes probably did not affect our health too much but in today’s world where global pollution, food pollution, GMO, vaccinations, mutated bacterias and stress overrule, which in turn make the weak spots in our gene roadmap more visible.

This complicated gene-matrix combined with a leaky gut syndrome, poor diet, chronic infections combined with an overload of toxins are triggering more and more auto-immune diseases. As I said in one of my previous posts, auto-immune diseases are on the rise and are becoming a global epidemic. This is very scary. We can help support our body methylations by eating the right type of foods that match your genetic problems. Also, try to eat organic produce and grass-fed cuts of meat as much as you can.

So where to start to detox your life?

A first thing you can do to help detox your life is by ditching toxic chemicals as much as you can. When you read other posts I wrote, you are probably already aware  I am on a mission to create toxic chemical awareness globally.

So which chemical groups do we need to DITCH?

There are so many …
Heavy metals
Formaldehyde
Organic solvents
BPA
Vinyl chlorides
AND MANY MORE 

You also need to take control of your diet, lower chronic inflammation and stress, take good care of yourself, be kind to yourself and others, and take care of your home and workspaces.

So how you detox your life and lower our toxic exposure in your house, and in your body?

Here is what I recommend :

Move every day (preferably outdoors)

Lifestyle also has an impact on your health and moving every day outside, reduces stress and counters depression. All of these lifestyle factors contribute to wellness, reduced inflammation and ultimately optimal health.

Self-care improves your overall health and wellbeing

Self-care is so important and, in many ways, it’s a lifestyle decision that contributes to optimal health. Eat and rest well, and incorporate as many healthy, holistic habits into your life as possible.

Reducing stress is a lifestyle change that is critical to staying healthy

Lessening the impact of chronic stress is a lifestyle change that is critical to staying healthy. A few small changes such as spending more time outdoors, relaxing, meditation and being more active, social and engaging has an impact on how I feel.

Drink filtered water (or ozonated water) and say NO to tap water

When I found out about the unlimited amount of heavy metals that come into our homes through tap water I immediately switched to filtered water and have never looked back.

You could also consider drinking Ozonated water in case you have your own generator. It has been one of my best finds for improving my overall health  that adds more oxygen to your body, which prevents illness and increases disease-fighting antioxidants.

Protect yourself from Heavy metal toxicity

Heavy metals are extremely toxic and are a key cause of hair and health problem. Many of the heavy metals that we consume through the environment enter our systems either acutely, slowly or over time (chronic poisoning). Chemical and heavy metal toxicity have become one of the most persistent health threats of our era as they continue to assail your body on a daily basis. This toxicity can lead to damage to vital organs, hair loss or result in decreased central nervous and mental functions.

Detox your life by going to bed early; it’s important for your immune system

One of the simplest ways to maintain your health and detox your life is by getting enough sleep. Adequate sleep is generally considered to be 7 to 9 hours a night. For your circadian rhythm, it is critical to getting good sleep. P

Ditch sugar; a sweet killer which is 8 times more addictive than cocaine

The truth is that nearly EVERYTHING WE EAT IS LACED WITH SUGAR. Even supermarket meat and smoked fishes may contain sugar, although this isn’t widely known. Always look at the ingredients to ensure no sugars (sugar, glucose, fructose and so on are added. I found this really shocking once I started noticing this few years ago. I had no idea. If you want to lower inflammation and helping your body to regrow hair, it is important to cut out sugars.

Sugar is an inflammatory, sugar ages you and it may cause you digestive problems and many other health issues. Furthermore, research indicates that a diet high in sugar increases the risks of pancreatic and breast cancer.

Meaningful connections are important to detox your life

Modern living has changed the reliance on a community that humans knew for many centuries. Many people today live a very solitary lifestyle, not realising that it can have a devastating effect on their health.

Detox your life by connecting with other humans, nature and animals (pets) is vital to our health, optimal health and happiness.

Toxic-free household cleaning products

Think about the number of goods you spray around your home, whether it’s an air freshener, bathroom cleaner or carpet freshener. You can see that the chemicals in this product can quickly build up in your home and your body.

To counter this, I always choose to buy organic cleansers. For cleaning, I like to use essentials oils like tea tree (which is an excellent antibacterial) and orange and citrus (to indulge my senses). It’s also possible to buy organic washing powder (or soaps) for clothes, which are non- toxic. To freshen the air in my home, I use a series of essential oils. Some of my favourites are citrus, lavender, tea tree oil and thieves.

Go toxic free on your skin and hair

To detox your life, one of the very important things is to ditch all toxic beauty care products. We have a habit of covering our skin with all kinds of toxic products. Some people never look at a skin care product label, but I urge you to pay attention to the products you put on your skin, as our skin is our largest organ, and we absorb absolutely everything.

Everything you apply affects you in some way. The chemicals in soaps, lotions, and deodorants seep into the skin and your cells. This is one of the primary ways that toxic chemicals enter the body. Walk away from any product that uses chemicals or non-natural ingredients and have some tests to see if your body is creating antibodies against the toxins, which would increase chronic inflammation.

Replace toxic soaps with essential oils to supercharge your health

Every single essential oil serves many diversified purposes. They work on the cellular, physical, emotional, intellectual, aesthetical and physical level. As you can imagine, this is invaluable.

You can improve your well-being on so many levels with these oils, without the use of toxic chemicals. On top of that, they are fundamental to the food, health, beauty and medicine industries.

Ditch chemical hair dyes with Henna dyes

Commercial hair dyes contain lots of chemicals that are bad for your hair and your overall health. They are absorbed through the scalp when used, and long-term exposure is harmful. Too many commercial brands are guilty of using ingredients that wow your hair for a while, but eventually, strip it of moisture. They break down hair proteins and ultimately lead to severe damage. It can even cause serious health problems and lead to auto-immune diseases caused by inflammation of the body.

Chronic stress can be deadly, leads to inflammation, chronic illness

Stress has become a big part of the modern lifestyle. So much, so that many people don’t even think about the high levels of stress they’re dealing with until one day, it leads to illness. Chronic stress is dangerous. It affects how the immune system works and long terms stress may lead to chronic inflammation. 

Combat chronic systemic inflammation and balance your body

Chronic Systemic Inflammation is the root of many serious diseases and finding out whether or not you are suffering from it is critical. Although inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury, when your immune system is unable to keep inflammation at bay, you may head towards premature ageing or other illnesses.

Get a comprehensive health history done.

If you haven’t felt quite well for a while, the best would be to visit a functional medicine practitioner to make a details health history.
This also includes looking at your environment at work, at home etc.

Toxic environments typically include auto body repair shops, nail and hair salons, dental clinics, chemical factories, house cleaning, lead paint and moldy buildings.

In 2014, I did a three-month stint at Sponaugle Wellness, a detox clinic in Florida. I went there to clear up my Lyme disease and find solutions for my chronic fatigue. Part of the treatment included daily vitamin IV drips to open up biofilms, release toxins and kill off the Lyme disease and other bacteria.

As the practitioners opened up the bio-film with these IV drips, they discovered, from some urine and blood tests, that my body was releasing an enormous amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), like Benzene and Toluene, which naturally out-gas from new carpet and furniture. Needless to say, I was extremely shocked and upset. I’d stopped using chemical household products for YEARS, yet they remained on my body’s biofilms. While these toxins were coming out of my body, I was feeling severely tired, depressed and down.

My stay at the clinic was an amazing experience, and I learned a lot about toxic chemicals, mold, bugs, parasites and so on. The Sponaugle Wellness clinic has a reputation for changing lives – in fact, there are stories of many patients who managed to get out of their wheelchair during their staying there! I even witnessed somebody getting out of a wheelchair.

Clean the air inside your home or workspace

Ensure to open your windows every day for a couple of hours (or more), depending on where you live. You can also use air-purifiers to clean the air, but ensure to only use a very decent one as unguided uses can do more harm than good. (you can also use your ozone-generator for this, on a very low flow level). Another way to bring more oxygen inside the house is by having fresh household plants inside your house and workspace.

Get a daily dose of fresh air and vitamin D

Spending time outside each day helps ensure you get the vitamin D you need to be healthy, well and energised. Sufficient levels of vitamin D also ensures that your hair has the nutrition it needs to grow long, thick and healthy. Stay clear of toxic sunscreens.

What more holistic things can you do to detox your life?

It’s important for people today to detoxify on a regular basis. Apart from a nutritious diet, one of the best ways to do this is by visiting an infrared or ozone sauna. Infrared saunas use light to produce dry heat. Time spent in an infrared sauna is good for the overall system. It can heat your skin and the tissues beneath. This process improves your overall metabolism and health.

Benefits of regular saunas include:

  • Enhanced metabolic function
  • Increased cellular energy production
  • Facilitated healing
  • Kills infected cells with a low heat tolerance: viruses, tumours, toxins,
  • Improved circulation
  • Oxygenates tissues
  • Allow sinuses to drain (opens nasal passages)
  • Sweats out toxins

Detox your liver with regular coffee enemas

A coffee enema is a method of injecting organic black coffee or green coffee beans, which have been brewed for ten minutes, into the anus, to cleanse the rectum and large intestines. The potion stays in the rectum for 5-15 minutes before being released with your stool. This treatment won’t affect those with a sensitivity to caffeine as it doesn’t go into your entire system, so please, don’t try this with decaf!

If you drink coffee, it needs to pass through your digestive system, which can irritate the gastrointestinal tract. But by inserting the coffee into your rectum, the beneficial compounds immediately travel to the portal vein of your liver.

Benefits of coffee enemas include:

  • Coffee enemas are said to reduce toxicity by a massive 600%
  • Improvement in mood and mental clarity, less brain fog and increase of your energy levels, while healing and cleaning your
  • Bettering
  • Reduces bad moods, helps fight depression by clearing out more toxins from your body- systems and
  • Helps the body get rid of bad bugs such as candida, parasites and other
  • Regular use of these enemas helps increase bile-flow, improved digestion and eases bloating.
  • Helps to repair and detox the liver, and aid heal chronic health
  • Reduces die-off reactions from detox or healing
  • Used regularly in the protocol for healing cancer patients
